Physical Gestures, 2019

In times of rapidly growing technology, a world that becomes increasingly easier for our bodies to function, I feel the need to highlight the importance of our daily gestures. Through the impact of digitalization, the context of our hands is changing. To zoom in on the objects we are surrounded with, to categorize them on gesture, and to define them, I make clear that the hand is an unmissable part of our body and often goes unseen.

What are the intentions and what are the features of objects like a door and its handle? What characterizes them for the observer? and how can I use opening and closing systems to symbolize my vision? These are the critical questions I asked myself during this process.

My research has resulted in a series of

cupboard-like objects where the intention of the gesture defines the product.
