Categorizing objects on year made that I could make connections with world history. For example the impact of both wars. The end of WWII was for example the beginning of mass production and the use of plastics (polyethylene).
I was impressed by the fact that the folding chair of Michael Thonet was already made in 1866 (see the first object on the left). Later I note that a folding movement is not only used in products but also in de production of the ice cream cones by Italo Marchioni in 1896. This folding movement is integrated in the manufacturing process and that is fascinating.
